Diversity Key to Lineup at CRS 2011 KCRS Live! Event

Songwriter showcase sponsored by Stroudavarious Records, Bob Kingsley to host

(Nashville, Tenn. – Feb. 1, 2011) – Stroudavarious Records has assembled a diverse lineup of songwriters and artists for its CRS 2011 KCRS Live! showcase, including Bob DiPiero, Aaron Lewis, LoCash Cowboys and Jeffrey Steele.

The KCRS Live! showcase is to be held Wednesday, March 2, from 4 p.m. – 5:20 p.m. CST in the Nashville Convention Center during CRS 2011.  Nashville-based independent label,
Stroudavarious Records, is sponsoring the event for the first time.

“I am so pleased to present such a tremendous group of writers at KCRS Live!” says Stroudavarious Records CEO James Stroud.  “These artists are all coming at this from different places and with different perspectives, but all of them are at the top of their craft and represent the best of what Nashville has to offer.”

This year’s KCRS Live! host is award-winning radio personality and host of Bob Kingsley’s Country Top 40, Bob Kingsley.

About the 2011 KCRS Live! songwriters and artists:

Bob DiPiero - For the past 20 years, Bob DiPiero has helped define the best that is Music Row.  A legendarily funny and compelling performer, he is one of a handful setting the bar for present-day songwriter/entertainers.  Bob is also a key part of the city's new leadership, a board member of the Country Music Association, a Leadership Nashville alumnus and former Nashville Songwriters Association, Inc. president who brings the creative and business communities together as few can.

Bob is one of Nashville's most consistent and prolific writers of hits, and he remains at the top of his profession more than two decades after hitting No. 1 on the charts for the first time in 1983. The reason is a pure love of the creative process.  As a raconteur, he may have no equal among his peers, and as a musical ambassador and bridge-builder, he has helped make Nashville a port of call for legendary performers from all genres, writing with Neil Diamond, Carole King, Johnny Van Zant and Delbert McClinton, among many others.

Aaron Lewis - Country music comes naturally for Aaron Lewis.  In fact, the Staind frontman never strayed very far from Country.  It's something that he grew up with.  It's something that he comes back to.  It's something that inspires him.  It's something that's in his blood.  Hints of that are present in the stripped honesty and acoustic melodies of Staind hits such as “Outside,” “It's Been Awhile,” and “So Far Away.”

With Aaron Lewis at the helm, Staind has amassed a loyal multitude of fans, selling over 13 million records to date.  Those fans have followed Aaron as he has embarked on numerous solo acoustic tours in recent years, performing both Staind classics as well as an ever-changing array of material from songwriters he admires.  Aaron premiered his debut solo single, “Country Boy,” for those audiences in the fall of 2010 to overwhelming response, and the recent video release for this single has already accumulated well over 2 million views between YouTube and CMT.com alone.

Aaron’s debut solo EP, Town Line, will be released March 1 via Stroudavarious Records.

LoCash Cowboys - LoCash Cowboys ushered in the summer of 2010 with “Here Comes Summer,” their debut Top 40 Country single that brandished every ounce of their trademark energy.  The band’s current single, “Keep In Mind,” displays a softer, more philosophical side.  Both songs will be featured on their Stroudavarious debut album, This Is How We Do It, a fitting introduction to a compellingly charismatic and multi-faceted duo.

Comprised of band members Chris Lucas and Preston Brust, the duo is aware of the dichotomy between their larger-than-life on-stage personas and their humble small town roots, referring to it as something that helps make them relatable to their ever-expanding audience.  They also realize they are blessed to be a part of something that brings them so much professional satisfaction and personal focus, citing that the LoCash in their name reflects the importance of remembering who you are and where you came from.

This Is How We Do It is set for a late Spring release on Stroudavarious Records.

Jeffrey Steele - Jeffrey Steele is an extraordinary songwriter who can boast having over 500 songs cut in the past eight years by over 100 artists, with more than 80 Top 10, Top 5, and No. 1 songs combined, over 35 million plays on radio and television, and 95 singles released from more than 75 Gold and Platinum albums.  Some of the biggest stars in country music have cut his songs, including Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Trace Adkins, Montgomery Gentry, Diamond Rio, LeAnn Rimes, Randy Travis, Lonestar and many more.

Jeffrey is the recipient of more than 50 writer awards, including those from the CMA, ACM, BMI and NSAI.  He has been nominated for several Grammys and a Golden Globe.  He is also a multi-platinum producer of Montgomery Gentry, Keith Anderson, John Waite and LoCash Cowboys.  In his own words, Jeffrey is “a lover of words and stories of life and tradition.”

event at this year’s Country Radio Seminar

Capitol Records Nashville recording artist Darius Rucker will headline a special ASCAP-sponsored event at CRS 2010 called “Storytellers with Darius Rucker,” replacing Country Radio Seminar’s annual KCRS Live! showcase.

Rucker will be the featured performer at the event, to be held on Wednesday, Feb. 24, from 4 p.m. – 5:20 p.m. in the Nashville Convention Center during CRS 2010.  Co-writers Clay Mills (bio), Frank Rogers (bio), Chris DuBois (bio), Ashley Gorley and Rivers Rutherford will join Rucker during his performance as they discuss the craft of songwriting and the collaborations behind the No. 1 hits, “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It” (Rucker/Mills), “It Won’t Be Like This For Long” (Rucker/DuBois/Gorley) and “Alright” (Rucker/Rogers), among others.

“With Darius having such incredible success with his first three Country singles going to No. 1, we thought it would be a unique and entertaining way to celebrate that by branding this year’s KCRS Live! as ‘Storytellers With Darius Rucker,’” says ASCAP Senior VP Connie Bradley.  “This year’s showcase will be a little bit different since Darius will be the only performer, but he’s going to be joined by some of the incredibly talented songwriters that helped him write such hits as ‘Alright’ and ‘It Won’t Be Like This For Long.’  It should be a very special event.”

Details and performers at Thursday’s BMI sponsored WCRS Live! showcase will be announced soon.

CRS 2010 is held Feb. 24-26, 2010 at the Nashville Convention Center in downtown Nashville, Tenn.  Visit www.CRB.org for more details.

Country Radio Broadcasters, Inc. announces the performers of the ASCAP KCRS Live! Showcase for this year's Country Radio Seminar (CRS-39).

The program will feature acoustic performances by Dave Berg, Tony Mullins, LeAnn Rimes, Neil Thrasher, and Phil Vassar. ASCAP KCRS Live! will take place Wednesday, March 5 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:20 p.m.
Connie Bradley, ASCAP Senior Vice President stated, "We at ASCAP feel very honored to play a part in Country Radio Seminar once again. Our relationship with the Country Radio Broadcasters and country radio is very important to us and we are excited to present such talented writers as Dave Berg, Tony Mullins, LeAnn Rimes, Neil Thrasher, and Phil Vassar at this year's event."

A brief introduction to each of the featured performers is below.

Dave Berg**Songwriter of the 2007 ASCAP Country Song of the Year, "If You're Going Through Hell (Before The Devil Even Knows)."
Originally from Portland, Oregon, Berg has an impressive list of nominations and awards. He is the newest recipient of the Country Music Association's coveted Triple Play Award (for achieving three number one singles in twelve months), has been named Billboard's #1 Hot Country Songwriter and is NSAI's Songwriter of the Year. With hits like "If You're Going Through Hell" and "These are My People" by Rodney Atkins, "Stupid Boy" by Keith Urban and "Moments" by Emerson Drive, it is clear that the praise is well deserved.

Tony Mullins**Songwriter of the 2000 ASCAP Country Song of the year, "How Forever Feels."Mullins moved to Nashville from the small town of Pound, Virginia in 1992. Since then, artists such as Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Clay Walker, Aaron Tippin, John Michael Montgomery, and Lonestar have recorded his songs. Most recently Mullins has written hits for Rascal Flatts ("Me and My Gang"), Van Zant ("Nobody Gonna Tell Me What To Do"), LeAnn Rimes ("Something's Gotta Give") and Craig Morgan ("Little Bit of Life").
LeAnn Rimes

The 2007 release of her album Family marked a milestone for this well-known Curb recording artist; every track on the new album was written or co-written by Rimes. Well known for her powerful vocal style, Rimes is embracing the opportunity to express an even more personal part of herself as a writer. The success of the first single, "Nothing Better to Do" is a testament to the multi-talented singer and songwriter.
Neil Thrasher

**2004 ASCAP Country Songwriter of the YearA talented vocalist in his own right, Thrasher was half of the Asylum Records duo Thrasher Shiver in the 90's. The duo was twice nominated for the CMA Duo of the Year before deciding to pursue other interests. Thrasher decided to explore a career as a songwriter. Artists from Rascal Flatts ("I Melt," "Take Me There," "Fast Cars and Freedom") to Kenny Chesney ("There Goes My Life," "I Lost It") to Montgomery Gentry ("Some People Change") are very glad that he did.

Phil Vassar**1999 ASCAP Country Songwriter of the Year, Songwriter of the 1999 ASCAP Country Song of the Year, "Bye, Bye" and 2001 ASCAP Songwriter/Artist of the Year.

Prayer Of A Common Man is Vassar's fourth studio album and first for Universal Records South. The Virginia-born singer, songwriter and musician may be known as country's leading piano man, but his writing has grown steadily introspective and personal. Along with his own hits like "Carlene," "Rose Bouquet," "That's When I Love You," "Just Another Day In Paradise" and "Six-Pack Summer," Vassar has scored hits with Alan Jackson ("Right On The Money"), Tim McGraw ("For A Little While") and Jo Dee Messina ("Bye Bye," "I'm Alright").

CRS-39 will take place from March 5th to 7th at the Nashville Convention Center. All agenda and registration details are available at www.crb.org. For additional information contact the CRB office at 615-327-4487.

He spent the majority of 2006 producing and co-producing some of the most promising artists to emerge in recent years. In addition to the latest efforts from Gretchen Wilson, Shannon Brown, Big & Rich and country legend Billy Joe Shaver, John claims producer credits on some of the most anticipated releases of 2007: John Anderson's Easy Money, sophomore albums from Cowboy Troy and Jon "King" Nicholson, and James Otto's WB Records debut. His list of hits include the #1 "Straight Tequila Night," Mark Knopfler's "When It Comes to You," "Seminole Wind" and the #1 "Money in the Bank." Easy Money, the new album to be released this year on Raybaw/Warner Bros., was produced by John Rich.

Craig Wiseman

Rivers has written songs for artists such as Gretchen Wilson, Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney, Gary Allen, Faith Hill, LeAnn Rimes and Keith Urban. In 2001, Rutherford earned his first #1 hit with Brooks & Dunn's "Ain't Nothin' 'Bout You," which earned him a 2002 ASCAP Song of the Year Award. Rivers success has continued with #1 songs, such as Tim McGraw's "Real Good Man" and Montgomery Gentry's "If You Ever Stop Loving Me." Most recently, Rivers scored three number one hits in less than a year with Gretchen Wilson's "Homewrecker" (May 2005), Brad Paisley's "When I Get Where I'm Going" (March 2006) and Kenny Chesney's "Living in Fast Forward" (March 2006). Together, these three songs have earned Rivers ASCAP's 2006 Songwriter of the Year Award.
