Country Radio Broadcasters, Inc. Honors CRS Founder and Former Executive Chairman Tom McEntee with CRB Boardroom Dedication Country Radio Broadcasters, Inc.® has unveiled its Tom McEntee Memorial Conference Room in honor of Country Radio Seminar founder and former CRB Executive Chairman, Tom McEntee. McEntee, who passed away on Sept. 24, 2009, served as CRB Executive Chairman and President for the organization’s first decade. He also created the CRB’s flagship event, Country Radio Seminar, which continues to be the largest Country Radio industry event in the world. CRS 2011, to be held March 2-4, 2011, marks the seminar’s 42nd consecutive year. “Tom McEntee had the vision to create Country Radio Seminar and guide this organization in its infancy, which we are all incredibly grateful for,” says current CRB Executive Director Bill Mayne. “Tom was way ahead of his time in terms of his vision for Country Radio, and the contributions he made to this format cannot be overstated. He was a visionary that shaped the evolution of the CRB and Country music, in general.” McEntee received the CRB President’s Award in 2001, the same year he graduated on the Dean’s List from Tennessee State University with a degree in Psychology. He was awarded the Nashville Mayor’s Award in 1994 and the BMI Commendation of Excellence in 1989. In addition to his involvement with Country Radio Broadcasters, McEntee started the radio tip sheet Country Music Survey and served as Country chart editor at Cashbox Magazine. His career also included stints in radio promotion, publicity, bio writing, artist management and songwriting. He was involved in the careers of Alabama, Jimmy Buffett, Earl Thomas Conley, Jimmy Dean, Lefty Frizzell, Hank Williams, Jr. and many other artists. The newly renovated CRB offices are located at 819 18th Ave. South, Nashville, TN, 37203 and now include the Tom McEntee Memorial Conference Room.
