CRS Honors Rusty Walker With New Scholarship Program

(Nashville, Tenn. – Oct. 15, 2012) CRS is now accepting applications for its inaugural Rusty Walker Scholarship program, created to honor Country Radio Hall of Fame member Rusty Walker, who passed away in May 2012.

The scholarships provide for an all-expense paid trip and attendance to CRS 2013, held Feb. 27-March 1, 2013.  Interested parties can apply now through Friday, Nov. 16 at www.CountryRadioSeminar.com

Each applicant must fill out an online application and submit a paragraph explaining why he/she should be considered as a Rusty Walker Scholar.  Eligible applicants must be a full-time radio station employee and a first time CRS attendee.  Three individual scholarships will be awarded.

Each scholarship includes a full CRS 2013 registration, one ticket to the Country Radio Hall of Fame Dinner, and airfare and hotel room expenses for four nights (Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013 – Friday, March 1, 2013).  Scholars will be recognized at the CRS 2013 opening ceremonies and will have the opportunity to meet and engage with CRS board members during the three-day seminar.  Scott Huskey and J.J. Jobe from Rusty Walker Programming Consultants will also meet with the winning applicants.

The CRS Selection Committee will announce the winning recipients on Monday, December 3, 2012.

CRS 2013 is held Feb. 27-March 1, at the Nashville Convention Center in downtown Nashville, Tenn.
