CRB BOOSTS EDUCATIONAL CONTENT FOR 37TH ANNUAL COUNTRY RADIO SEMINAR WITH ADDITION OF TWO NEW PANELS

CRB BOOSTS EDUCATIONAL CONTENT FOR 37TH ANNUAL COUNTRY RADIO SEMINAR WITH ADDITION OF TWO NEW PANELS

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 25, 2006) - The Agenda Committee of the Country Radio Broadcasters, Inc. announces the addition of two new panels to this year's CRS-37 agenda: Weaving a Web Site for Ratings and Revenue and HD Radio: HD 2 Is Here.

Weaving a Web Site for Ratings and Revenue: Could you use better ratings and more revenue? At most radio stations, the two most commonly under-utilized marketing tools already in the building are the station's own airwaves and its website. Some stations spend thousands of dollars on direct mail, television, newspaper, telemarketing, and billboards. But they casually neglect their own airtime and web space. Daniel Anstandig, McVay Media VP/Adult Formats, will share ideas on maximizing your ratings and revenue through your website. This panel will be held Thursday, Feb. 16 from 3:10-4:10 p.m. in room 208.

HD Radio: HD 2 Is Here: Last May a Country station, WUSN, became the first radio station of any format to multicast in HD2. Its HD2 programming was "Chicago¹s Future Hits." WXTU, Philadelphia now programs "Future Hits" and WKIS Miami programs an outlaw Country format named "Gretchen" on their HD2 stations. In January, the rollout of HD2 began in earnest, bringing a Clear Channel Country station, programmed by Clay Hunnicutt, to New York City. Each of these stations are exposing Country music and songs that would not otherwise be broadcast in their market.

Moderated by Sean Ross, VP of Music and Programming Edison Media Research, the panel will include Bob Barnett, Program Director, WKIS-FM and WKIS HD2, Clay Hunnicutt, Vice President of Country Programming, Clear Channel and Bob McKay, Program Director, WXTU-FM and WXTU HD2. This panel will be held Friday, Feb. 17 from 3:15-4 p.m. in rooms 211-212.

According to CRB Executive Director Ed Salamon, "The addition of these two panels greatly strengthens the educational content of the seminar. To my knowledge, the HD Radio: HD 2 Is Here panel is the first industry panel of which I am aware that specifically addresses HD radio programming, rather than technology."

As previously announced:

… Edison Media Research will again present their annual research presentation, The Largest Study Ever of Country¹s P-1 Listeners Part II. This year, the presentation will be held Friday morning from 9-9:45 a.m. in rooms 204-205.

… General Tommy Franks will be the featured keynote speaker this year, sponsored by KCCS Productions/Jones Radio Networks. Recording artist Neal McCoy, who was part of the first entertainment tour to the Persian Gulf region after Operation Iraqi Freedom -- Project Salute 2003, will introduce General Franks.

… Andy Andrews will speak on Friday from 2-3:20 p.m. Andrews bestseller The Traveler¹s Gift: Seven Decisions that Determine Personal Success remained on the New York Times bestseller¹s list for 17 weeks and has been translated into nearly 20 languages.
