CRB,Inc. Presents Tim Roberts Scholarship to Central Michigan University

The Country Radio Broadcasters, Inc. (CRB) presented its annual Scholarship to Central Michigan University’s School of Broadcast and Cinematic Arts on October 14th, 2006. The $25,000 endowed in perpetuity scholarship was given during a Homecoming event that unveiled the newly remodeled Broadcasting Department at CMU. It was named after CRB Board Member and CMU alumni Tim Roberts.
Roberts who serves as Program Director of CBS Radio’s 99.5 WYCD in Detroit stated, "Central Michigan has trained countless radio and television broadcasters including Dick Enberg, and I couldn’t be more proud that the CRB is supporting their continued efforts with this scholarship.  It would take a novel to tell you all that I learned and experienced in the radio program at CMU, and I’m very proud that the Country Radio Broadcasters are supporting this wonderful program with a significant scholarship contribution in my name.  Thanks to the CRB and the continued support of radio education.  This day was an unforgettable experience for me, my wife Lori who also was a CMU radio alum, and the entire Roberts family."
In accepting the scholarship Dr. Pete Orlik, Director of the School of Broadcast & Cinematic Arts stated, “Each year one of our best radio career bound students will have the benefit of CRB’s support and recognition. We appreciate the chance to be partnered with your industry enhancing-organization."
CRB Board Scholarship Committee Chair, Bill Mayne stated, "Central Michigan University has a proven program of excellence in radio Broadcasting. The scholarship Committee was most impressed with the potential for our investment in the future with CMU: from the curriculum, facilities, staff, and most importantly the students. I feel it is particularly rewarding for our Board of Directors to be able to honor our friend and colleague Tim Roberts with this endowment."
CRB has been providing scholarships for over thirty-six years. Last year’s scholarship was presented to the broadcast program at Middle Tennessee State University.
